211th MP BN recognizes 211th Coastal Artillery’s WWII veterans

BOURNE, Mass. – The Hamblin brothers, Charles, 89, and Seth, 91, served in 211th Coastal Artillery, which is now the 211 Military Police Battalion. Both brothers were recognized for their service during World War II by Lt. Col. Brett Conaway, battalion commander, 211th Military Police Battalion, Massachusetts National Guard, at Camp Edwards, here, May 8, 2012. The 211th Coastal Artillery was mobilized September 16, 1940, in Boston. Then the unit was stationed at Camp Hulen, Texas, and eventually moved to San Francisco, Calif., in December of 1941. The 211th was used as a defensive unit for US Naval installations.
