26th Yankee Brigade Change of Command

CAMP EDWARDS, Mass. – On June 14, 2009, The 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Yankee Brigade) conducted a change of command ceremony at Camp Edwards.

Col. Greg McDonald assumed command from Col. Paul Smith, who has been appointed as the Assistant Adjutant General (Army), Massachusetts National Guard.

Brig. Gen. Thomas J. Sellars, commander, Massachusetts Army National Guard presided over the ceremony. Brig. Gen. Steven Wickstrom, commanding general, 42nd Infantry Division, New York Army National Guard, and Brig. Gen. Scott Rice, Assistant Adjutant General (Air) Massachusetts National Guard were in attendance.

Prior to taking command of the brigade McDonald was the Director of Facilities at Joint Force Headquarters. He has also commanded both the 181st and 101st Engineer Battalion.

“I am looking forward to serve as the 26th “Yankee Brigade” commander as we move forward and face new challenges in the future. This brigade has a distinguished lineage and I am proud to take command,” said McDonald.
