Movement Tracking System

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - The 164th Transportation Battalion, Massachusetts National Guard, reached another milestone in the Operation Responsible Drawdown effort, becoming the first ever Army unit to field the newest version of the Movement Tracking System. The 164th and Joint Logistics Task Force 7 within the 1st Sustainment Brigade operationally fielded the newest version as a combined effort to continuously improve overall communication with forces and personnel during all phases of the mission.

The newest version of MTS is actively being used by the 164th at all levels from the Soldiers who travel throughout Iraq, to the battle captains and company liaison officers who monitor convoy movement and procedures back in the tactical operations center. The updated version provides new tools to battle captains, convoy commanders and support operations officer for route planning, graphics and overlays, as well as the ability to group convoys based on mission requirements.
