– The Massachusetts National Guard has joined the social media revolution with the creation of their official Facebook and Twitter pages, Nov. 24, 2009.
The Facebook and Twitter pages will allow the Massachusetts Guard, in cooperation with its own Web site, to provide relevant and timely news to its Soldiers, Airmen and fans.
Both pages were launched and will be managed by the Joint Force Headquarters Public Affairs Office.
“Social media provides us with an unparalleled opportunity to reach out to people in an unobtrusive manner,” said Maj. James Sahady, public affairs officer, Massachusetts National Guard. “Facebook fans will receive periodic updates about news, photos, upcoming events and opportunities for free or discounted tickets to local events.”

“Facebook is a dynamic tool that will help us perform our mission at a higher level,” said Sahady.
