Guard recognizes Soldiers for blizzard heroics

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Massachusetts National Guard recognized seven Soldiers for their efforts to aid communities throughout Massachusetts during the recent winter storm here, March 3, 2013 at 11 a.m.

The Guardsmen were awarded for performing lifesaving and life-giving actions during Winter Storm Nemo such as helping to deliver a baby, getting a 5-year-old boy who had swallowed glass to the hospital and stabilizing a man who was had a seizure.

More than 1,400 Soldiers and Airmen from the Massachusetts National Guard provided emergency support during the winter storm.
