MILFORD, Mass. – Maj. Gen. L. Scott Rice, The Adjutant General, Massachusetts National Guard (Acting), presents a letter of appreciation from the Internal Revenue Service to Maj. Shannon McLaughlin for her efforts assisting Service members with tax preparation July 26, 2012 at the Massachusetts National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters here. A total of 51 volunteers assisted Service members and their families with tax preparations and financial counseling. In addition to traveling to 37 events across the commonwealth to meet with Service members and their families, these volunteers completed 1,054 federal and state tax returns saving Service members and their families $177,000 in tax preparation fees.
