Brig. Gen. John Hammond 

Boston Brig. Gen. John Hammond, Massachusetts Army National Guard, aided by Command Sgt. Maj. William Davidson, senior enlisted advisor, 26th “Yankee” Brigade, slowly rolls his flag for the last time during his retirement ceremony at the Massachusetts State House, Sept. 4, 2012.

Hammond, who served the nation for 31 years as a Soldier, commanded the 26th in Afghanistan from 2011-2012, and was the commanding general for Task Force Yankee and the Kabul Base Cluster Command.
