Office of the Inspector General

Promoting excellence, integrity, and efficiency

Welcome to the Office of the Inspector General of the Massachusetts National Guard. Information on this site is designed to assist both Soldiers and Airmen and to enhance their knowledge of the Inspector General’s (IG) Office.

For more than 200 years, Inspectors General have inspected, audited, investigated, trained, and performed those duties necessary to support the U.S. military in achieving its mission. The modern IG is an extension of the eyes, ears, voice, and conscience of the commander. The IG is a personal staff officer providing the commander with a sounding board for sensitive issues. IGs are honest brokers and consummate fact finders. Their primary tools include training, inspecting, assisting, and investigating.

Individuals who need to contact the Inspector General are encouraged to contact the office by phone or email.
