"Through numerous community-based, leadership, educational and informational programs, the National Guard Drug Demand Reduction program supports individuals and organizations dedicated to drug intervention and prevention, anti-legalization efforts, and the positive development of youth."
The RHODE ISLAND NATIONAL GUARD COUNTERDRUG SUPPORT PROGRAM (RI-CD) is a vital member of a partnership of National Guard Members, law enforcement agencies (LEA's) and the local communities involved, in a multi-front battle against drugs and drug-related violence.
The RI-CD currently consists of Army and Air Force Guardsmen on full time active duty status in accordance with Title 32, Section 112, United States Code. These soldiers and airmen are from National Guard units throughout the state and perform counterdrug (CD) duties in a support role.

- Information dissemination
- Intelligence analysis
- Linguist support
- Photo development and interpretation
- Aviation support
- Ground reconnaissance
