COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT LORI A. ASHNESSCHIEF MASTER SERGEANT MICHAEL J. BRADY

Chief Master Sergeant Michael J. Brady is Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Rhode Island Air National Guard. As Command Chief, he is responsible for advising the Adjutant General, Assistant Adjutant General-Air, staff and other key leaders on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of the state’s enlisted Airmen.

Chief Brady enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1981. He served 3 years on active duty then transferred under the Palace Chase Program to the Rhode Island Air National Guard. In 1984 he was assigned to the 282nd Combat Communications Squadron as a Wideband Communications Specialist and later as a Satellite Communications Specialist. In 1991 he transferred to the 281st Combat Communications Group serving in Maintenance Control, Logistics and as Communications Systems Superintendant. He has been a Unit Career Advisor and an Additional Duty First Sergeant. In 1990 he was activated for Operation Desert Shield. In 1991 he deployed for Operation Desert Storm. In 2003 he was activated for Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom serving at USCENTCOM. He was selected in 2006 to be the State Human Resource Advisor assigned to Joint Force Headquarters, Rhode Island National Guard. CMSgt Brady was selected the ANG Human Resource Advisor of the Year in 2007 and the 2010 ANG Region V Human Resource Advisor of the Year. CMSgt Brady is the co-founder of Leadership and Diversity a monthly newsletter published by the ANG Diversity Office. He is co-director of the ANG Chiefs Executive Course. CMSgt Brady is a Keystone Graduate and served as the Senior Enlisted Leader Rhode Island National Guard, June-September 2013.
