MISSION
The mission of the Rhode Island National Guard Intelligence Oversight program is to provide ongoing oversight of intelligence activities and components within the Rhode Island National Guard, in accordance with Executive Order 12333, AR 381-10, AR 20-1, and AFI 14-104 and in conjunction with the RING Organizational Inspection Program (OIP).
PURPOSE
To ensure Intelligence personnel and activities within the Rhode Island National Guard fully protect the legal rights of all Rhode Island and United States persons, including freedoms, civil liberties, and privacy rights guaranteed by Federal law when executing their duties.
KEY TASKS
Improve the internal management of intelligence activities within the Rhode Island National Guard
Ensure all Assistance to Civil Authorities and Law Enforcement operations strictly adheres to established lawful regulations and procedures
Identify and report questionable intelligence activities
Identify and report intelligence related Federal crimes
Review the RING Intelligence Oversight training program
ENDSTATE
Rhode Island National Guard Intelligence activities are conducted effectively and efficiently in support of the Rhode Island National Guard mission and fully conform to Federal, Army and Air Force Intelligence Oversight regulations at all times.
