The Rhode Island National Guard’s two C-23 Sherpas will depart Quonset Air National Guard Base on Tuesday at 10 a.m., to be decommissioned in Oklahoma later this week.

The 169th Military Police Company of the Rhode Island Nation Guard, located in Warren RI, will return to the Quonset Air National Guard Base after a ten-month deployment at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Saturday.

The Providence College Men’s Basketball team honored local military members, veterans, and their families at the Saturday March 2, 2013 game against St. John’s. Entitled “Armed Forces Appreciation Night – Standing Together”, the purpose of the evening is to thank local Rhode Island military members, their families, and veterans for all they have done.

Rhode Island Air National Guard member Technical Sergeant (TSgt)(ret.) Gregory Grutter received the Bronze Star medal with Valor, and the Purple Heart, in a ceremony presided over by Governor Lincoln Chafee, the Captain General of the Rhode Island National Guard, and Major General Kevin McBride, Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard.
