Major General (MG) Robert T. Bray, Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard announced today that the 143d Airlift Wing, out of Quonset Point, deployed two C-130J aircraft late yesterday, with a total of 10 personnel in support of the U.S. military’s Haitian relief effort, Operation Unified Response.

In a military ceremony at the Middletown Armory on Sunday, December 6th, members of the Company A, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), received recognition for their actions while in Afghanistan from January - July 2009.

The UH-1 “Huey” Farewell Ceremony at the Quonset Air National Guard Base received a fitting farewell last Sunday. Civilians and Military members gathered to witness the Huey’s last fly by and listen to stories about the role the Huey plays in the imagination and everyday lives of the American people.
